The Hotel

The Hotel

The 5-star Gran Lujo Hotel Casa Fuster is much more than a prestigious hotel; it’s a monument to Barcelona’s history. Located at the top of Passeig de Gràcia, this building was designed in 1911 by the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. It was commissioned by the businessman Mariano Fuster as a gift for his wife, Consuelo Fabra i Puig, daughter of the Marquis of Alella, from whose lineage our restaurant, Aleia, takes its name. Considered at the time to be the most expensive building in the city due to its white Carrara marble façade and exquisite ornamentation, today it is an undisputed symbol of world Modernist heritage.

After a meticulous restoration that respected every detail of its original structure, the palace was transformed into a five-star Gran Lujo hotel that preserves the grandeur of the Catalan bourgeoisie of the early 20th century. The interior design blends Art Deco style with the warmth of fine materials, creating an atmosphere of exclusivity and tranquility that sets it apart from any other establishment in Barcelona. Strolling through its salons or admiring its sculpted capitals is like taking a journey to the golden age of European architecture without leaving Barcelona’s most glamorous avenue.

The experience culminates on the first floor, in the palace’s former elegant quarters, where Aleia Restaurant is located. Dining here means immersing yourself in the essence of Modernism while enjoying a two-Michelin-starred menu. The high ceilings, original woodwork, and large windows overlooking Passeig de Gràcia create an unparalleled atmosphere. Here, diners not only savor the haute cuisine of Rafa de Bedoya and Paulo Airaudo but also become part of the building’s living history, surrounded by architectural beauty that elevates every bite to an unforgettable cultural experience.
