The Hotel Casa Fuster 5 * GL welcomes aleia restaurant on the first floor, in the noble area of the casa fuster, which will provide the environment, location and charm to host the restaurant.
The building was designed by the modernist architect Domenech i Muntaner when the Catalan businessman Mr. Mariano Fuster wanted to give this house to Ms. Consuelo Fabra i Puig, daughter of the Marqués de Alella, hence the name Aleia Restaurant.
The work was completed in 1911, making it the most expensive building built at that time. In 2004 it was rehabilitated, transforming it into a monumental, five-star luxury hotel, in an art deco style, preserving the original grandeur of the original construction.
This emblematic hotel is located on Paseo de Gracia, the most elegant avenue in Barcelona, famous for its luxury boutiques and Gaudí's buildings.
I was born in the City of Córdoba, Argentina, in a family of Italian immigrants. When I was 18 I decided to start a new adventure, I left my hometown, my comfort zone and then this passion began. I have worked all over the world, including Mexico and Peru and in many European countries. In Europe I gained experience in legendary restaurants like Arzak in San Sebastián, The Fat Duck in London and Magnolia in Italy. In May 2015 La Bottega opened, a modern Italian trattoria where in October of the same year, the restaurant obtained its first Michelin star.
In July 2020 i moved the restaurant facing La Concha bay and after 4 months we got back our first MICHELIN star, on December 2021 we been award with our second MICHELIN Star. After 18 years cooking and searching for culinary excellence around the world I finally found my home, even the name of this ambitious project is named after my daughter Amélie, which means that this time I am here to stay.

Raised by parents who worked in hospitality, he learned from them the sacrifice and dedication this profession demands, helping alongside his siblings in the family businesses.
He trained professionally in the Basque Country and later specialized in French cuisine. Throughout his career, he has worked in some of the best restaurants in Spain, shaping a solid culinary identity and a profound love for the craft.
His most personal adventure began in Barcelona with the opening of Aleia Restaurant in December 2021, a project into which Rafa poured his soul and gastronomic vision. In November 2022 he earned his first Michelin Star, and by 2025 Aleia had been awarded two Michelin Stars, establishing it as one of the must-visit culinary destinations today. His cooking blends the Andalusian imprint of his roots with the Mediterranean produce that surrounds him.
